Emerging in the middle of the sea at low tide, it can span the size of 120 football fields - earning Kuala Selangor the nickname "Malaysia's own Salar de Uyuni". This stunning phenomenon is set in a region rich with ecological wonders and home to fascinating sea creatures.
Your adventure begins with a 30-45 minute boat ride from the jetty, with a detour through the river mouth to explore the mangrove ecosystem and its unique wildlife, flora, and fauna. Once at the Sky Mirror, you'll spend an hour barefoot on the seabed, guided carefully to explore this magical landscape.
Along the way, learn about coastal ecology, discover creatures of the land, river, and sea, and take part in the fun "Find the Biggest Sea Shell Challenge" using reference cards and measurement tools. No visit would be complete without capturing the perfect reflection photo -your professional photographer will snap a stunning shot, printed for you at the end of the tour.
The day starts at 9:00 AM with a briefing on the Sky Mirror and intertidal zone, followed by a river cruise, seabed exploration, shell hunt, and group photo session before returning to the jetty for snacks and a debrief. Experience Tips:
- Participants must understand the risks involved in outdoor activities and boat trips, including physical injuries, insect bites, seasickness, hot weather, rainy conditions, and other unforeseen circumstances.
- Any health issues must be communicated to our team before the trip, and personal medication should be brought along as needed.
- Participants who are prone to seasickness are advised to take seasickness medication 30 minutes before boarding.
- Wear bright, outdoor-friendly clothing, along with slippers or scuba boots. A long-sleeve shirt, windbreaker, or raincoat is recommended for extra protection.
- Bring a dry bag or waterproof bag, plus essentials like hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
